Cranford's Vanguard Medical Group Celebrates 10th Anniversary by Giving Back

Vanguard Medical Group of Cranford, a patient-centered medical home family practice, is hosting a “Thanks Giving Day” open house on Saturday, May 11, 2013, at their office from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. As a gesture of the practice’s gratitude to their patients and community, a $10 donation will be made by Vanguard to one of three charities in honor of every guest who attends — up to $5,000. The guests will be able to choose from the following list of charities: the United Way of Greater Union County Hurricane Sandy Community Recovery Fund, the National Multiple Sclerosis Society — New Jersey Metro Chapter, and Cranford High School Class of 2013 Project Graduation.

“We are so excited and pleased to be reaching this milestone that we wanted to do something to give back to our community whose members have patronized our practice for a decade,” said Robert Eidus, M.D., president of Vanguard Medical Group and founder of Cranford Family Practice. “Our patients are part of our family, and our team of health care practitioners is taking this opportunity to welcome our patients as well as their families and friends to the ‘Thanks Giving Day’ festivities.”

The event is free, and guests will meet with members of Vanguard’s care team, including Dr. Eidus; Dawn Howell, FNP-BC; and Matthew Giangrante, M.D., the newest member of the Cranford team. Light refreshments will be served while guests receive complimentary blood pressure screenings, preview “Americans In Motion — Healthy Interventions” (AIM-HI), and receive giveaways including pedometers and  — in honor of Mother’s Day — roses for all moms who attend (while supplies last).

“As part of our celebration, we thought it fitting to give a gift on behalf of our guests — our goody bag — to organizations that have a positive impact on all of us, which exemplifies Vanguard Medical Group of Cranford’s culture of caring,” added Dr. Eidus.

About Robert Eidus, M.D.

Dr. Eidus is a board-certified family physician with a medical degree from Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Piscataway, N.J. He completed his residency at Overlook Hospital, Summit, N.J. He spent 11 years in family practice, including seven as chair of the Department of Family Practice and director of Family Practice Residency at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Paterson, N.J. In 2011 he was elected president of the New Jersey Academy of Family Physicians.

He is a recognized national leader in family medicine education and has spent eight years in managed care, serving as medical director at US Healthcare and chief medical officer at ChoiceCare Health. With Dr. Eidus at the helm, both organizations received three-year accreditation by the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA).
