Tax Deductible Sports Gear Donations Accepted at Cranford Shop

Green Sports NJ is holding an after-Christmas donation drive this month. Donations are tax deductible.

The bat that didn't make it through little league season, or those hockey skates that got left in the closet because they weren't going to make it on the trip to college can all have a home now. Thanks to the Green Sports NJ holiday drive, residents are encouraged to make a post-Christmas donation of gently used sports equipment to help a good cause.

Green Sports has been selling sporting goods products for just under a year. It's an initiative by The Arc of Union County to create an environmentally friendly business that helps people with disabilities. Donations are tax deductible.

Currently, the store is packed with everything from gently used martial arts fighting gear to used golf clubs, and is looking for anything from winter sports gear to football gear. The store doesn't accept helmets for liability reasons, but does get those donations from manufacturers. The After-Christmas Donation Drive runs through Dec. 31.
