Halloween Parade and Pumpkin Smash!

The Cranford Recreation and Parks Department and the Cranford Jaycees are sponsoring a Halloween Parade on Sunday, Oct. 30. Gathering and registration will begin at 1 p.m. in the parking lot at Cranford Community Center and judging at 1:30 p.m.

The parade starts at 2 p.m. and ends at the Gazebo in Parking Lot #1 (near the Fire Dept.). Don’t miss the Pumpkin Chunkin at 2:30 p.m., followed by the awards. Awards will be given out for Best Costume in the following age groups: 0-3, 4-5, 6-7, 8-9, 10-11, and 12-16.

Other categories include: adult/child team, group, and hand-pulled mini floats.

The parade will begin at 2 p.m. at Chestnut Street and High Streets, it will continue west to Walnut Avenue, north across South and North Avenues, up North Union Avenue, across Alden and end at the Gazebo in Parking Lot #1 (near the Fire Dept.).

Parade escorts include the Cranford Police Department, Cranford Fire Department, and the Cranford Emergency Squad.

This year the event is also accepting donations of non-perishible food for Cranford Family Care. Any and all donations will be gratefully accepted at the Community Center parking lot from 1pm - 2pm.
