Cranford Business Finds Unique Growth Opportunity in Tough Times

Monmouth Junction, N.J. (February 12, 2014) - Consolidated Insurance Agents (CIA), an exclusive network of independently owned and operated insurance agencies, ended 2013 with 42 agencies in the network group.  Among the agencies added in the last year were Preferred Risk Agency of Florham Park, North East RM Holding LLC of Cranford, CK Insurance Agency of Edison,  Berman Insurance Agency of North Brunswick, and Volk Insurance Group of Milltown.

“Consolidated Insurance Agents gives local insurance agents direct access to a variety of carriers that we work with as part of our network.  With more companies and more products to offer their clients, these agencies can attract a broader array of clients to grow,” says John Tiene, chief executive officer, CIA.

CIA’s highly innovative model allows agencies to gain scale and revenue, direct access to national and regional carriers, and it allows agencies to pool premium to improve contingency revenue – all while remaining completely independent.

"Crown Insurance Agency joined CIA so that we would have the ability to offer our insured's more choices of carriers, so that we could get them the best coverage at the best price. I was previously a captive agent and only had a choice of one company. I prefer being a brokerage so that we can shop rates and products from multiple carriers to find the right choice for our personal lines as well as commercial customers," says Renee Kazanowski, owner of Crown Insurance Agency in Riverdale.

CIA is planning to double the size of its network in 2014, as well as expand to the Mid-Atlantic region. Other New Jersey insurance agencies who joined CIA’s network in 2013 are Turner Brokerage of Woodcliff Lake, Alamo Insurance and Financial Services of Lawrenceville, ALP Insurance and Financial Services of Cliffside Park, and Sureco Agency of Lakewood.
