One of the newer stores in downtown Cranford is Atlantic Beach Soap Company, owned by Shaun Vanclief. If you haven’t been there yet then now is a great time to stop by. The store sells items that are perfect for stocking stuffers, gift baskets, hostess and teacher gifts. You can find something for nearly everyone on your holiday list here.
Shaun was formerly a chef and eventually turned his eye to soap recipes. His mantra is “If it shouldn’t go in your body, then it shouldn’t go on it.” Nearly all of the ingredients in his products can be found in food. The products are all natural and manufactured under Shaun’s direction. Shaun sells not only body soaps, but also lotions, body butters, bath fizzies, lip balms, and shaving products. He has a group of regular customers who are attracted not only by the uniqueness of his products, but also the quality and affordability. Atlantic Beach Soap also sells personalized soap bars labeled with a person or company’s name to be handed out as favors. Doesn’t that sound like a great idea for a bridal or baby shower?
Nearly everything sold at Atlantic Beach Soap is Shaun’s own creation, though about 10% of his stock is provided by other companies. Shaun discovers those products from his own research and recommendations from customers. If he does decide to sell another company’s product it must be at least as good as Shaun’s own. Shaun strives to offer his customers the biggest selection he can, while also maintaining the quality they’ve come to expect.
As the weather turns colder and your skin turns drier, Atlantic Beach Soap is selling one of their most popular items – Soy Candles. You burn the candle for 15 minutes, then rub the lotion on your skin. The store also holds soy lotion hand massages Thursday nights from 7-9 pm.
