Photo: Downtown Cranford Feels The Heat

A Heat Advisory has been issued for Union County.

Ever hear the phrase, "it's so hot, you could fry an egg on the sidewalk?" If you cracked an egg open today, it would be burnt to a crisp before it even hit the ground. The National Weather Service has issued a Heat Advisory for Union County, reporting that the hottest conditions are expected through early this evening and once again Thursday afternoon. Temperatures tonight may stay as high as 80 degrees, and Cranford is certainly feeling the swelter.

Patch snapped this photo of the thermometer at Martin Jewelers reading 102 degrees at about 4:30 this afternoon. Do your best to keep cool--stay inside, and maybe grab an ice pop or three.
