Accidents Slow Traffic On Parkway In Cranford

No injuries were reported.

Two motor vehicle accidents involving a total of eight cars caused some delays on the Garden State Parkway at about 2:20 p.m. Saturday.

According to the New Jersey State Police, there were two separate crashes in the left lane - one involving three cars and the other involving a total of five vehicles. The two accidents occurred near milepost 130. No injuries were reported, but there were delays as emergency crews worked to move the vehicles to the shoulder of the southbound side of the highway, police reported.

As of 3 p.m., state troopers were still on the scene, investigating the crashes. Two flatbed tow trucks were requested, and responded to remove damaged vehicles from the roadway.

The cause of the investigation has not yet been determined. Cranford Police were contacted but did not have any information regarding the accidents or delays through the township.
