Car Flips Over, Lands in Front of Harvest Center

Both driver and passenger received minor injuries.

A vehicle struck the curb and a fire hydrant, flipping over twice and landing on the front lawn of the Harvest Training Center on Myrtle Street in Cranford Tuesday night.

The 26-year-old Linden driver lost control of the 1993 Toyota Corolla as it traveled west on Myrtle, coming out from under the Garden State Parkway overpass at 8:03 p.m. The driver and a 20-year-old female passenger, also from Linden, were transported to University Hospital with minor injuries, according to Lt. Joseph Van Bergen of the Cranford Police Department's Traffic Division.

Both were wearing their seat belts.

The driver was charged with driving while intoxicated, reckless driving, and driving without insurance.
