A Newark man under the influence of narcotics was involved in a car crash between his Ford Explorer
and another vehicle causing it to overturn on Commerce Drive early Wednesday
evening, according to Cranford Police.
Jonathan Perez, 25, was charged with assault by auto, driving under the influence of narcotics and possession of prescription pills, Sgt. Gerard Quinn reported.
The Cranford Police Department responded to the scene of an overturned auto shortly before 5 p.m., when Det. Steven Toy discovered several prescription medications and narcotics from the vehicle, Quinn said.
Det. Russell Luedecker also issued Perez citations for reckless driving and driving with a suspended license,
according to the report.
