Brief: Town Hall Meeting to Discuss Downtown Overdevelopment

The Township Committee is hosting a meeting tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Hillside Avenue School to listen to citizen concerns of overdevelopment.

The Cranford Township Committee will host a Town Hall Meeting tonight to address residents' concerns of potential overdevelopment at 555 South Avenue and Birchwood Avenue. The Riverfront Redevelopment Project will also be discussed.

The Township Committee believes that overdevelopment will negatively impact schools, drainage and traffic, as well as the quality of the Cranford community. The objective of the meeting is to give an update on the affordable housing litigation, discuss Cranford’s proactive role in the matter and, most importantly, to listen to citizen concerns.

The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at Hillside Avenue School.
