Press Release: Power Is Restored To Cranford

Very brief outages will take place overnight as PSE&G works to deactivate temporary power that was used following Hurricane Irene.

According to the Facebook page, PSE&G reports that at this time, power in Cranford is 100 percent restored. However, there may be localized individual houses out due to service wire damage, but they will be covered under the storm restoration process.

They now will have to undo the contingency plans, which include portable transformers that were placed around town until the sub-station was repaired. As part of undoing the temporary restoration plan, the utility company will need to de-energize the load again. These power outages will be of short duration. They are not to be mis-interpreted as rolling blackouts or system issues. They will most likely be done from 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. each morning over the course of the weekend as required to avoid outages during awake hours.
