Riverfront at Cranford Station Accepts New Residents

The commercial portion is still under construction, but the residential properties are ready for move-in.

Riverfront at Cranford Station has welcomed their first residents in June and is expected to welcome the first residents of the second building next month.

The first residents of the properties moved in June at 105 Chestnut Street and the first residents of 103 Chestnut Street are expected to move in come October. Riverfront at Cranford Station includes 127 residential units within two buildings.

Garden Communities, which owns Riverfront, said they couldn’t release specifics on vacancy.

“The traffic has been steady,” said Advertising Coordinator Maria Friscia of Garden Homes.

The commercial portion of the Riverfront project is still under construction, but Garden Communities stated the residential portion is open for move-in.

“We are finding that majority of our residents are from the local surrounding town,” Friscia said. “We do have residents that also have relocated from other states.”

The proposed Riverfront project is to include 20,000 square feet of retail space and 20,000 square feet of office/medical arts space.

Although, Friscia could not speak on potential lessees for the commercial property, she said that ideal uses may include a gourmet grocer and restaurants.
