CHS Baseball Coach Named State Coach of the Year
Dennis McCaffery was named Coach of the Year by the New Jersey Coaches Association.
The New Jersey Coaches Association recently named Cranford High School Baseball coach, Dennis McCaffery, the 2013 Coach of the Year in baseball.
McCaffery led the Cougars in a 25-1 season last year and ultimately to the Group 3 state championship title.
“It’s a direct reflection on their success [the team],” McCaffery said.
He explained that the recognition is not about himself, but the community and the kids, parents and volunteers who work hard to make the programs possible.
The NJ Coaches Athletics Association also named McCaffery coach of the year. He was previously inducted into the Union County Baseball Association Hall of Fame in February of 2012.
He has been head coach of the Cranford team since 1999 and currently serves as principal of Lincoln School.
